Welcome Aaron!!!

Well, he's here! Yesterday, June 3rd, 2009 at 2:24pm Aaron David Adams entered the world. He is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I can't decide who he looks like exactly, but one thing we know for sure is that he is the cutest thing we have ever seen in our whole lives and we can't stop kissing and holding him. It has been a VERY tiresome day so far. Most of the day went really well. He was circumsised today. The nurse gave him tylenol afterwards which really made him sleep almost all day until this evening. Ever since then he has been kinda fussy. Unfortunately his fussiness, and my extreme emotions that have all of a sudden kicked in, we are experiencing some rough bumps in the road. I am assured though by everyone that this is VERY normal and that we both will be fine. I'm waiting for myself to agree with them. We were so blessed with so many visitors (we are very much loved). Of course the fam (mostly Raich) has take one berbillion pictures. Lori Beth has made a CUTE album online that most everyone has seen. Here are some of what I think are the cutest couple of pictures. I'm not sure when the next post will be...probably when we move next weekend. Enjoy looking at the cutest baby in the world.

Baby Time!

So I know it's been awhile. Soon, I actually mean this, I will be able to do a better job at keeping up with my blog. Not having internet access at home has made blogging more difficult. But I will update everyone on stuff for now and then hopefully will keep up better once we get in our house on JUNE 12th!!!!!!!!!!!

So...yesterday I had a doctor's appointment- 38 1/2 weeks. I have been measuring small for several weeks now (belly measurement) and so my doctor sent me for an ultrasound this past tuesday to make sure the baby was still growing and to check my fluid level. Good news is that the baby is probably over 7lbs now and everything as far as he is concerned is perfect. However, my fluid level is measuring at the almost too low mark and so yesterday when I went to my appointment she decided to induce me next week. Sooo.....we are going to have a baby next Wednesday June 3, 2009. I've decided that is a good birthday for little Aaron. So I will be 39 weeks and 3 days when he comes. I have to say I was pretty shocked when my doctor decided to induce me. I was really loooking forward to going into labor on my own, but this does seem to be the best option for me and for Aaron so Mark and I both (while kinda taken by suprise) are happy with the decision and are really looking foward to meeting our little boy. Of course it will be a long day (starts at 4am) and will take the whole day until we meet the little fella, but it will be so worth it! The fam will come Tues night (if you're Jenny) and Wednesday morning for the rest of them. I guess that's it for now. I am anxiously awaiting June 3rd, but I have a lot to get done between now and then. Sleep is not going to happen, it hasn't been for the past several weeks now, so I will have plently of time to sit and ponder the unknown. For those of you that know me, that can be dangerous. I was hoping my doctor would let me work Monday, but that was a no.

The Baby has a house!

Well we have pretty much decided on this house (the one in the previous blog). I absolutely LOVE the house. It fits Mark and I so well. It's a great first house! We have signed a bunch of papers at the bank for the loan etc.., the apprisal is done, the inspection is done...now we just have to close. That part can't come fast enough. My belly is growing growing growing! Of course everyone still says I don't look 8 months pregnant, but I beg to differ. It's amazing what a little baby can do to your body...totally change for sure! I still don't think I look like me and with all the additional swelling that is occuring recently as I get closer to the end I'm starting to wonder if anything on me will look familar again. This weekend Mom, Raich, Jenny and Jerry (and some other family members from other places) are coming for my shower at Cedar Lane (Mark and my church). I am so excited for everyone to come and meet our familoy at Cedar Lane. My mom and sister have met everyone before but this will be the first time that Jenny and Jerry are coming to meet everyone. I'll let you know how everyone goes..I know it will be a blast!

Last weekend was our ladies retreat for Cedar Lane. It was a great weekend for me! I was able to learn about how to "love well." I really enjoyed getting to know the women who went; some for the first time and some relationships I already had grew stronger and deeper. Margaret asked me to do the devo for the Lord's supper on Sunday morning. If any of you know me well at all, you will know that at that moment I was asked I became the worst worry wort ever! That is my weakness, but I was glad she asked me because I have been trying to work that weakness out of my life, or at least make it less of a problem. The subject I spoke on was relationships and relating to our worship, particularly the Lord's Supper. Without any trouble I was able to relate it to our weekend theme of "loving well." It was so perfect it gave me goose bumps as we were learning from Beth Moore on how to love and be loved. I prayed and prayed I would be able to say what I wanted to say clearly and without breaking down crying (which these days is getting harder and harder.) God was gracious! I give Him the glory for helping me choose my words and be confident!

I will continue to give updates on our house situation. For some reason my husband just realized yesterday that our baby is due in 5 weeks. I have no clue where he has been the past 8 months, but apparently he didn't realize that I could go into labor before June 7th. I guess the engineer in him could not let him see anything other than June 7th. Hopefully for his sake and our house's sake little Aaron will stay put until then. Secretly though, I would be fine if he came before that.

The Baby needs a house!

So I know it's been a while since I blogged, but I am redeeming myself with some pictures of what is happening in our lives. My belly is growing, growing, growing. I put a picture on here of my belly as of today, this would be 6 1/2 months. I know the pictures are dark, but they will have to do for now. The baby still has no name, but doesn't seem to mind. He is kicking like crazy ALL THE TIME! And when I say all the time, I mean ALL the time. I wake up in the middle of the night several times and every time he is kicking a lot even then. I can't imagin that he sleeps very much. I hope this is not a forshadowing of what will come. He does kick more though in the late evenings and very early mornings.
I put a picture of the house that we are looking at right now. We are more serious about this house than any other one we have looked at, which makes me very happy because 2 weeks ago we were still planning on living with the very generous Bills family when the baby came (which of course still might happen.) With only 2 1/2 months to go I am starting to feel a little on the desperate side to find a place. I don't have pictures of the inside yet because technically the house isn't even on the market yet. It is brick house with a 2 car garage. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. The man has redone a lot inside the house and it looks really open and bright. Most of the land is to the right of the house (when facing the house) and some is in back of it. There is a place for me to plant a garden in the back yard (very exciting!) and plenty of room for horses (~7 acres). Only alittle of the land is fenced, so we will have to do a lot of that. But of course I live with an expert fencer and his dad isn't so bad himself. The place is within Tullahoma city limits which makes it good for resale and good school systems also. So enjoy and make comments!

It's a BOY!!!

Well I know most of you know already, but I wanted to make it official.....


IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are so excited. I wish you all could have seen Mark's face when we finally saw our sweet boy on the ultrasound. He could not be happier. There is no mistaking that our baby is an Adams. He has BIG feet and long legs. Very stubborn as well. The entire time throughout the ultrasound he had both hands and feet together up by his face. We saw his little mouth opening and closing. It was so cute and precious! We are so excited! I will try and post some pictures later on, but for now I just wanted to make the announcement.

More market fun!

Today I went with Larissa to the market and one of the grocery stores near by. I took a few pictures of her talking with her regular fruit and vegetable ladies. I am really enjoying watching Megan and Larissa really getting comfortable with their new culture. I love seeing their relationships with the people of Arequipa blossom daily. God is working through them to reach so many like the lady with a shop on the street who calls their names as they pass by several times a day, or the ladies in the market who greet them as they enter to buy their usual fruits and vegetables, and especially Manuela, the house keeper, who has become part of each family.


Last night when Megan and I got home from the Plaza what did we find our husbands doing?

Yes, that's right. Both of them were sitting on the floor building an airplane and a building from Ana's legos. Where was Ana you say....not allowed to come near the masterpieces being built by our creative husbands. They were so proud of their creations as you can see from the pictures

Worshiping in Arequipa

Today we worshiped with Team Arequipa. Megan made lunch for everyone (Tacos!) and we had the Lord's Supper together during that time with our meal. Of course this way of participation in the Lord's supper is not what we normally do on Sunday's at home. I have to say that it made a very deep impact on me because I was a lot more aware of my relationship with the people who were at the table surrounding me and the importance of my relationship with them as a family of God. It made a huge impression on me. I doubt there will ever be another time when I am participating in the Lord's supper again that I do not remember this special time sitting around the table with my family in Peru. I made a view video of our worship time together and put in on here for your viewing pleasure. While there are only 4 people here on a regular basis worshiping right now, I can feel the excitement in each of them for the future to have God's church in Arequipa grow beyond all imagination.



After worship the girls (Megan, Larissa and I) went to see "Bride Wars" at the movie theater and had a bite to eat afterward. It was really great spending time with Megan and Larissa. I am reminded why I felt so close to them in Tullahoma. When we got home the boys were watching the Superbowl in Spanish. The only thing Mark and I understood were when they said the players names.

Jerry David is kicking like crazy now. I feel him/her almost all the time. Our next ultrasound is scheduled for the week after we get back so HOPEFULLY the baby will show us if we should be saying he or she. I talked with mom and dad to see how things were going after their ice storm. The weather is much warmer now, but no on in Melber has electricity yet and it doesn't look like they will for a while.

Also, to those who are wondering, Mark is NOT wasting away! He is having no trouble eating here. Lots of yummy stuff to eat and try. And we have NOT had any guinea pig.....YET!
