Organized disaster

Ok, so right now my house is pretty much a complete disaster. However, it is a controlled disaster (this is what I've decided to call it) because I know where everything is and it is somewhat organized...just no home yet. I knew this was coming, but somehow I wasn't quite prepared for what it was going to look like. Last weekend we started pulling up all the floors in the house. I was ok with that until I came home from an errand and found my entire living room full of the things I had stored in the spare bedroom and Aaron's room. Particle board and dust filled my house and things were a complete mess. And my one year old was running around in all of it. I was pretty much having a moment of complete crisis and breakdown when Kelli Wilson miraculously showed up in my house and gave me some perspective and put me back together (since I fell apart in front of all the wonderful men who came to help). She helped me sort through things and encouraged me that things were going to look great when everything was done. I have since held onto these words...especially when the decision was made to pull out the cabinets (just the bottom ones) to put the floor under them. Mark is working so hard to make this chaos as short-lived as possible. Plus, we have had SO MUCH HELP from all our friends to tear up the floors to dinner 3 nights in a row because cooking was not going to happen. Also, both our dad's got here last night and have done so much for us. We are so blessed to have them. Aaron hasn't skipped a beat. He just goes with the flow. The entire house is a jungle gym to him and he thinks it's cool to help his daddy. Matt will be here tomorrow night and my dad is staying a few extra days to help start the hardwood floors. It's hard to believe we are actually going to get the new floors in. I've attached some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

You have had a tough time with sickness and "home" being all torn up. I am sure those guys didn't think a thing when you had your breakdown. :-) I am glad Kelli was there to comfort you. And it is going to look great. Hardwood floors are so pretty. I cannot wait to see the final product... and it will have all been worth it!

P.S. At least you don't have paint chipping off the entire bottoms of your concrete walls because of the rainy season.

It won't take very long. The cabin was done in NO time, and that was with just a handful of people helping. I can't wait to visit when it's finished. Keep posting pics!
